In-Home Supportive Services Advisory Committee

Description

IHSS is a County-administered program mandated by the state to serve eligible consumers who need assistance (personal care and/or homemaker services) in order to live in their homes. Those eligible are aged, blind, and disabled recipients of public assistance or with low incomes.

Board of Supervisors: Resolution #00-1115, 9/12/00; 00-1309, 10/24/00; 01-0326, 3/20/01.

Duties

Provide ongoing advice and recommendations on matters of IHSS service delivery and administration (including policy and funding).

Term

Two years from date of appointment.

Membership Composition

5 members who are current or previous users of personal assistance services, who are representative of the County IHSS caseload; 2 members who are current or former IHSS providers; 2 members with experience in program development, administration and fiscal management who represent or advocate for home care service delivery organizations and their consumers; 1 ex-officio member from the Human Services Department.

Meeting Schedule

4th Mondays at 3725 Westwind Blvd., Suite 101, Santa Rosa.

Compensation

$35 for half-day meetings and $70 for meetings over 4 hours in a single day.
