Airport Land Use Commission

Description

Regulation of land use around airports.

Authority

Section 21670 Public Utilities Code, State of California - Formed by C-4-20, April 13, 1982.

Duties

Study and make recommendations on building height restrictions near airports, hold hearings on subdivisions and make advisory findings, make and enforce rules for conduct of public hearings, and achieve compatible land uses by zoning of all vicinities near new and existing airports.

Term

Four years or until the appointment of a successor; terms expire in May.

Membership Composition

Seven (7) members; two appointed by Board of Supervisors; two appointed by City Selection Committee; two appointed by managers of the public airports (one representing airports operated for the benefit of general public and one representing managers of public airports); one public member appointed by the first six.
